Procurement and vendor selection – Cii

Charities Institute Ireland (Cii) is the national membership body for charities, community organisations and social enterprises across Ireland, supporting the sector through advocacy, professional development and member services.

Membership challenge

Following an independent technology review, Cii identified that its existing CRM and website were no longer able to support the organisation’s evolving membership needs. The existing platform presented challenges around core membership processes, system integration and future scalability, making it clear that a replacement solution was required.

Having established the need for change, Cii required independent, vendor-neutral support to manage the procurement process and identify the technology partner best suited to its long-term organisational objectives.

What we did

Building on our technology review, we designed and managed the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring Cii could make an informed and objective technology decision.

Working closely with stakeholders, we refined business requirements, developed a comprehensive Invitation to Tender (ITT) and identified a shortlist of suitable suppliers. We managed supplier engagement throughout the process, facilitating discovery meetings, reviewing written tender submissions, coordinating supplier demonstrations and supporting the evaluation of each solution against agreed criteria.

As an independent consultancy, we provided impartial advice throughout the procurement process, helping Cii assess each supplier on functionality, implementation approach, integration capabilities, commercial value and long-term organisational fit before selecting its preferred technology partner.
